These days, people grill all year long, even in the dead of winter. And when there’s snow on the ground is the worst time to get caught with an empty gas tank.

You can buy yourself a little insurance for less that $30 by picking up the GasWatch, an electronic device that not only lets the user know when they’re close to running out of gas, but also serves as a leak detector and emergency flow limiter in case of a major leak.

The gadget’s innovator, S.K. Suman of Charlotte, NC says it’s an idea whose time has come. “You wouldn’t dream of hitting the road without a gauge that tells you how much gas you have left in your car. I thought grillers needed something similar. Nobody wants to run out of gas in the middle of cooking a meal.”

The electronic indicator can be attached to any cool surface of the grill that is convenient. This is especially convenient for grills whose tanks are hidden behind doors. When the tank is full, the LED light on the gauge is green. When it moves into the yellow zone, that should serve as a warning that it’s time to refill your tank. When you only have 15 to 20 minutes of gas left, the indicator moves into the red zone and begins to beep.

GasWatch works with all 20 pound barbeque grill tanks, and easily connects between the tank and regulator without any tools. GasWatch can be purchased when buying a new grill or it can be purchased to add to a grill that is already at home and in use.

The electronic GasWatch is available exclusively online. For more information or to place an order, log on to www.gaswatch.com or call (704) 845-9458. A version of GasWatch without the electronic indicator is available at Lowe’s and Barbeques Galore retail stores and online at www.gaswatch.com
