Doing Your Homework: iPhone Reviews

Published by Author under iPhones

When contemplating the purchase of a major product it is important to conduct research. That research should reveal the durability of the product, the price of the product, any warranties involved, comparison of prices, any dissatisfaction of customers with the product, etc.

The best and most effective way of gathering all this information is by reading reviews. A little time spent reading a review prior to a purchase can possibly save some heartache, disappointment and prevent buyer’s remorse.

This strategy holds especially true in the ever changing world of technology. Case in point is the recent unveiling of the iPhone.

If considering the purchase of this product it is important to read iPhone reviews. iPhone reviews can be read in various technology review magazines, searching the Internet and by talking to owners of this device.

iPhone Reviews Found In Technology Magazines

Generally the best advice that we can receive about any subject is from an expert or someone who is experienced about the subject of interest. When wishing to learn about iPhones an iPhone review found in a technology periodical should prove to be very helpful.

An iPhone review written in such a magazine allows for their expert staff to put the product through its paces. They will discuss ease of use, the iPhone performing as advertised, durability, pros, cons, etc.

iPhone Reviews On Websites

Another excellent method of obtaining iPhone reviews is by logging on to various search engines on the Internet and using the words iPhone reviews. The internet user will be rewarded with a number of websites which will provide feedback regard the iPhone.

Often these various websites will share with the reader about the extraordinary features that are offered. Those features could include the brightness and clarity of the screen, the ease of use, texting with one hand, the sound of the music player, etc.

In addition, these Internet websites will, for the most part, candidly share with the reader those features that may be cumbersome or disappointing. However, it is important to remember to make sure that any iPhone reviews are unbiased and not sponsored by Apple.

iPhone Reviews By Friends

One additional way of determining the performance of an iPhone is by asking friends or acquaintances. Generally, these iPhone reviews are most valuable based on a number of reasons.

One of those reasons is that their opinion will be unbiased. In other words they have no hidden agenda or nothing to gain by giving their honest feedback.

Also, these individuals probably have the same level of knowledge or skill in operating the iPhone. If a feature was difficult for them to learn or use, that may be the same experience for others.

Is the Nokia N95 Really an iPhone Replica or Not?

Published by Author under iPhones

There are several iPhone replica that have popped up in the market today including those made by individuals and many that have been made by companies with strong engineering skills, especially in countries such as China where too the odd iPhone replica has begun to hit the market if only to meet the high volume demand for owning an iPhone given that the original is not as yet available in China.

Ten Percent Can Own the Real Thing

The fact is that there are many people who cannot stop raving about iPhones, especially those with enough money to spare in buying one. The need to own an iPhone is indeed strong though the fact is that in reality only ten percent of the world has the luxury of owning one. So, if you are not part of that fortunate ten percent of the world, you like the rest of the ninety percent would have to make do with whatever comes your way including even owing an iPhone replica.

A case in point as far as learning more about an iPhone replica is the notorious Clay iPhone that made headlines in quite a few places including in the iPhone World, and Boing Boing as well as MyiTablet. This was one piece of news that had everybody sitting up and taking notice and in fact even led to feelings of worship for this iPhone replica that bordered on being cult-like.

Another product that may or may not be considered as an iPhone replica is the Nokia N95 which is certainly worth more than being referred to as being a replica because it is certainly far too superior to put in that category. In looks, it can match the iPhone and in size it is smaller and a notable advantage to this so-called iPhone replica is that it has GPS which is something that is missing in the iPhone.

Plus, the Nokia N95 which should not really be called an iPhone replica also has excellent resolution which is about two and a half times greater than that found in iPhones. It may only be the fact that the iPhone has a wonderful touch screen that is lacking in the N95 that has made people consider the latter to be referred to as an iPhone replica.

Otherwise, the Nokia N95 is as good as any iPhone and certainly is better than what one would normally expect off an iPhone replica. It would be far better to look at the Chinese version of the iPhone and call those products iPhone replicas rather than club the Nokia N95 in this category.

The Innovation of Podcasting Software

Published by Author under Podcasting

You had originally created a blog so as to bring you ideas and muses to the masses. Then, you get an email from the service provider who hosts your blog. Uh oh. Did you perhaps do something that has raised the provider’s ire? Nope. The email is actually a ton of good news as your blog can now host podcasting! Yes, you can run your own radio show or late night talk show on your blog! Now, you can join the masses of websites that have taken advantage of podcasting software.

If you do operate a website a podcast, by the way, can serve as an excellent way of promoting your products. Surely you have pulled up a website now and then that features a podcast that spells out the virtues of the product that the website is offering. Surely, you would do well if you co-opted this idea for your website provided you have access to decent podcasting software.

Looking at Podcasting

While podcasting is a divine gift to the world, it is not born of divine means. In other words, there is no miracle that creates the sounds that come from your personal computer or your iPod. No, life is not that simple and that is why there was a need to develop podcasting software in order to make the whole file downloading and streaming process work. And, oh yes, it does work and works well. This is why podcasting has thoroughly revolutionized the audio and video industry. So, if you are looking to make a podcast you will need adequate and solid podcasting software to make sure that the podcast you create will be clear in sound quality as well as easy to produce.

Because podcasting has become wildly popular in recent years and the process required for making a podcast is relatively simple more and more people have become interested in adding podcasts to their blogs and websites. This has greatly brought the price of podcasting software down as well as having allowed for a variety of innovations so that podcasting software is user friendly to those looking to use it. After all, many people are novices in this regard and podcasting software that simple, easy to install, edit and operate will the type most important software to possess. Luckily, a great number of software programs fit this bill and as a result podcasting will forever remain a large part of the internet landscape.

Complaints About The Iphone Price Drop

Published by Author under iPhones

The iPhone was an innovative gadget that set the techies tongues and fingers atwitter when word came out that it was going to be sold in June 2007. The initial iphone price was $599 for the 8 gigabyte version. The 4 gigabyte version of the iPhone came at a lower price. In spite of this really steep price for a cellular phone combined with several other features, many still stood in line waiting for the stores to open.

These early buyers were so eager to get their hands on an iPhone that many stood outside the stores that will sell the phones the day before the iPhone’s launch. To think that one is so willing to buy a newly launched product which offers similar features as other cheaper phones is phenomenal. The iPhone price has not deterred buyers from being the first people to have the very in demand iPhone.

The Iphone Price Drop

Just last September 2007, Apple announced its plans to drop the iphone price by $200 just in time for the holiday season. The reason for the iphone price drop given by Apple is that they want to gve everybody a chance to be able to buy an iPhone. That means the 8 gigabyte iPhone you bought for $599 is now available for just $399. The 4 gigabyte version will still be sold until supplies last but none will be made after. This iphone price drop has irritated early buyers because they believe that a price drop this much is not rational especially after less than three months of launching the product.

Early iPhone adopters or buyers are complaining that the iphone price drop is not justifiable since the products to be sold are still the same products and the new ones coming out are highly similar to the old ones being currently sold. The reactions of the people who bought the iPhone early are actually understandable. The feeling of being cheated is prominent and most of the people who are affected by the iphone price drop are demanding retribution. Many have sent complaints, demands and emails to the people at Apple in hopes that they be heard.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has issued a statement regarding the iphone price drop in the Apple site. He is giving a $100 Apple Retail Store or Apple Online Store credit to those who have purchased an iPhone from AT&T and Apple. Recently, this 2008, rumors are rife that Apple might yet again issue another iPhone price drop. These are just rumors and have yet to be confirmed by Apple.

Why Get a Refurbished iPhone?

Published by Author under iPhones

When the iPhone first came out there were millions of people that wanted one and it did not take long for the initial supply to run out.  But when people started to see the $599 price tag they started to shy away.  Many people found better ways to spend $599 than on a phone and many also assumed that the iPhone would follow the pattern of other high end consumer electronics and drop in price after 6 months or so.

After several months on the market the iPhone did drop in price a little bit but it is still in the $400 range so you probably need some serious extra money to be able to afford an iPhone.  Don’t forget the fact that internet access on a cell phone is very expensive and so is email and text messaging.  In the end the iPhone has become a sort of cell phone status symbol for the same reason that the BMW is a car status symbol and a mansion is a home status symbol, it costs too much for the average person to be able to afford it.

But there are used BMWs out there and sometimes you can buy a mansion on foreclosure for a fraction of the cost.  Access to the status symbol is available to the person that looks for it and the same can be said of the iPhone.  Many people that cannot afford a brand new iPhone are getting a refurbished iPhone.

A refurbished iPhone is a phone reconditioned by Apple and is just as good as a brand new iPhone.  Most of the status people cannot tell the difference between the refurbished iPhone and a brand new one.  But there are some things to keep an eye out for when you are looking to get a refurbished iPhone and some traps to avoid.

Yes, it Matters Who Refurbishes it

Only buy a refurbished iPhone that has been refurbished by Apple.  If you want the technical support and warranty benefits of a properly refurbished iPhone then only a phone refurbished by Apple will do.  There are other companies out there that claim they refurbish iPhones but Apple only recognizes iPhones they refurbish for warranty and tech support so make the right choice and get an refurbished iPhone from Apple only.

A refurbished iPhone is just as good as a brand new phone and in almost all cases you will not be able to tell the difference.  If you get a phone that was refurbished by Apple then you also get the warranty and tech support advantages as well that will make you feel like you own a brand new iPhone.

What’s up With the iPhone Nano?

Published by Author under iPhones

The iPhone is an expensive device that is selling like crazy all over the world.  It has become so popular that it is becoming the standard status symbol to cell phone enthusiasts all over the globe.  It is one of those things that when friends meet one will say to the other “I finally got an iPhone.”  It holds the same status as a $50,000 a year job or a BMW in the driveway.

If you have an iPhone you want everyone to know it and you want everyone to see you using it.  It is one of those things that you walk around work with it clipped to your belt for everyone to see in the hopes that someone will ask you about it so you can indeed confirm that you own the newest status symbol, the iPhone.  The iPhone is about the size of a small calculator.

It has no buttons on it as everything is done on a touch screen.  It plays music, videos, lets you surf the internet, helps you organize your information, and also acts as a phone.  It can be very customizable and everyone has to have one.  But what about the people that want the iPhone but will not, or cannot, pay upwards of $500 for a phone?  Think Nano.

The iPhone Nano is the long awaited little brother of the iPhone that people on a limited budget who want the iPhone have been waiting for.  In the anticipation for the iPhone Nano some pretty funny things have happened.  Youtube has videos of a phone the size of a fingernail being referred to as the iPhone Nano and its enthusiastic support.

The reality is that the iPhone Nano will probably be about half the size of the iPhone, have most of the functionality, but only cost about half the price.  The iPhone Nano is a great idea but it brings up the question as to whether or not people that could normally afford a full iPhone would not just spend less money on an iPhone Nano.  Is Apple cutting its own throat?

Hence The Delay

Apple is trying to figure out the best way to introduce the iPhone Nano and then also what is the best way to price it, and add features to it, without jeopardizing their current iPhone business.  It is a delicate juggling act but not at all unlike the marketing coups that Apple has pulled off in the past.  Meanwhile millions of potential customers remain in wait for the forthcoming iPhone Nano.

If there was ever a company out there that could figure out a way to introduce a product that could cut into its own business but avoid that conflict it is Apple.  Many in the high tech industry are waiting to see exactly how Apple will introduce and market the new iPhone Nano.

Podcasting On Imac Is Greatly Simplified Thanks To Features Such As ilife 08

Published by Author under Podcasting

Podcasting in its popular form is all about letting people subscribe in a selective manner to the kind of audio content they wish to listen to over the Internet, and it is therefore possible to have the audio content downloaded to a PC or mobile device whenever a new podcast is published. It is very much like being able to listen to radio shows whenever you feel like it – though of course, podcasting goes way beyond that.

When it comes to podcasting on iMac, you will have, in the iMac, a powerful device that will suit all of your creative urges and it is sure to have iLife ’08 already installed which means that you are able to connect with little difficulty to digital devices and even make your own new content. However, for those who are usually on the move, podcasting on iMac with a Macbook is recommended and since both these devices have built-in mics for audio recording you should not face any difficulty in recording your content.

GarageBand

And, with GarageBand, you have everything that you need for recording, producing as well as publishing your podcasts which makes podcasting on iMac a real breeze since you can, with GarageBand, turn the recording studio on a Mac into a personalized radio station. Other things to consider when it comes to podcasting on iMac is to choose a kind of microphone that picks up sound the best though using Griffin iMic along with Monster iStudiolink microphone cable may give you better results.

The good news for you is that when you are going in for podcasting on iMac, the new iMac that Apple recently unveiled and which features Mac OS X and Intel Core Duo processor provides you with performance that is going to be twice as fast as what you have so far been able to get. And, the iMac also comes with iSight video camera that makes video conferencing much simpler and you also get Front Row with the Apple Remote which makes your media experience more enjoyable as you are then able to enjoy your content even from across a room.

And, to get the most out of your podcasting on iMac, you have iLife ’08 which is a next generation digital lifestyle application suite that has everything that you would need to get the best out of your iMac including of course excellent podcasting abilities, and using things such iWeb, you can publish your podcasts with a few clicks of the mouse button.
