While I didn't hear the best reviews about the first Hitachi model, the DZ-BD9HA, I did read some exciting news and reviews about their latest edition, the DZ-BD10HA. You can buy it at the hitachi website (www.hitachibd.com/product) and, after purchasing it myself, I would say that it is definitely a good buy.

Some specs include, 7 Mega Pixel 1/2.7" CMOS Image Sensor, 8 cm BD RE/-R/DVD Drive, 30GB HDD (almost four and a half hours of 1920x1080 video or almost twice that of 1440x1080). It's smaller, I would say about 20% in size. Picture quality is stunning: High Res Image Processing LSI, Face Detection(also evens out skin tones, makes them clearer, etc). With significantly longer recording time, and a transcoding feature that lets you transfer HD videos to standard definition DVDs so that you can still share video with all the people who don't have Blue-ray yet, it appears that I made the right decision with the new Hitachi Camcorder :).
