Finding GPS Reviews
If you are considering purchasing a GPS unit for your car, or a handheld unit for hiking the great outdoors, you would be wise to read some reviews on the internet.

This is basically a gadget news and review site. The GPS reviews are detailed and include some product comparisons, but most of the scores appear to be higher than normal, making comparisons difficult.
They call the BlackBerry 8800 Smartphone and BlackBerry 8300 Curve Smartphone inadequate for GPS navigation.
The Hewlett Packard iPaq rx5900 is called “the best hybrid device we’ve used.”

The GPS review written about the Garmin Forerunner 305 wristwatch gives it a rave review. It states that of all the units Garmin has produced, the 305 “is by far the most innovative and useable of the lot.”

Laptop magazine regularly reviews GPS devices and gives them a rating. The Palm GPS Navigator Smartphone Edition 2 is selected as an Editor’s Choice. It’s a GPS kit that will essentially enable a smartphone to do double duty as a TomTom One, which is one of the top-rated car GPS units. The 3.9 ounce Mio DigiWalker H610 crossover device is also favorably reviewed.

The Garmin Forerunner 201 gets a very good review except for problems related to measuring altitude and incline on trails accurately. Other than this, it is a great tool.

This site is one of the best sites for lengthy and detailed reviews of GPS handheld units, auto GPS, and GPS software. The only negative is the site layout that make reviews a little hard to locate and products aren’t ranked or rated.
The Garmin GPS-60C and Garmin GPSmap 76C are both described as superior products that are reasonably priced.

Comparisons of different GPS units are made easy because a final verdict is reached in each comparison.

Their ratings indicate that the top GPS for runners is the Garmin Forerunner 305, and the top GPS for bikers is the Garmin Edge 305 bundle. They also go out of their way to provide links to other GPS sites that might be helpful.
