It’s often worth taking a course in DIY computer repair to make sure you are able to do at least the most basic tasks yourself.  You can save a lot of money this way.

There are situations where the actual parts you would need to get your machine up and running again are negligible in terms of cost.  The real money will come in calling in a professional to swap the parts for you.

If you learn what you need to do to be able to perform DIY computer repair yourself, you will also be able to fix the problem much sooner, as you won’t have to wait for someone to turn up and look at the machine before anything is even done.
